Senior Asset Manager

At Rivoir, you will work on the long-term performance and value development of infrastructure assets from the perspective of the asset owner.

Full-time · Amsterdam

What does this position look like?

As a Strategic Asset Manager, you are responsible for developing, implementing and managing an integrated asset management approach. You will work on complex infrastructure assets, such as tunnels, highways, public buildings and energy infrastructure, within long-term contracts and concessions.

In doing so, you look beyond the technical performance of an individual project. You connect maintenance strategies, contractual agreements, financial structures and operational performance and translate these into guiding choices for the long term.

You formulate asset management strategies, set objectives and KPIs and translate them into management, maintenance and investment plans. In doing so, you steer on availability, reliability, risks, lifecycle costs and sustainable value development.

You are an important discussion partner for our team of investment managers but also for investors, shareholders, maintenance parties and other stakeholders. You bring together different interests, create support and ensure that strategic choices are translated into concrete results.

Where a Technical Manager mainly focuses on the technical content and implementation, you are responsible for the integral consideration and strategic direction. You determine where optimizations are needed, which choices are needed and what the impact is on the performance, risks and value of an asset.

What will you do?

  • You will develop, implement and evaluate asset management strategies for complex infrastructure assets and asset portfolios.

  • You formulate strategic objectives and KPIs and translate them into management, maintenance and investment plans.

  • You manage the performance, availability, reliability and value development of assets throughout the entire lifecycle.

  • You translate performance data, risk analyses and market developments into guiding strategic choices.

  • You optimize lifecycle costs, risks, maintenance strategies and asset value.

  • You weigh up technical, contractual and financial interests integrally.

  • You manage maintenance parties and manage contractual agreements and performance.

  • You advise project management, investors, shareholders and other stakeholders on strategic maintenance and investment issues.

  • You identify and manage risks and opportunities for improvement at asset and portfolio level.

  • You coach and support colleagues and project teams and stimulate knowledge development and professionalization.

  • You follow relevant market developments and contribute to new propositions, methodologies and services.

About you

You are an experienced asset management professional who can oversee complex issues in an integrated manner. You combine strategic and conceptual thinking skills with a practical approach and know how to translate vision into concrete plans and results.

You understand the relationship between technical performance, contractual agreements, financial interests and risks. From that broad view, you are able to make clear choices and give direction to projects, teams and stakeholders.

You communicate convincingly, move easily between different levels and know how to create support among project management, investors, maintenance parties and colleagues. You take ownership, show leadership and get energy from developing people, organizations and new ways of working.

In addition, you have:

  • HBO or university working and thinking level, preferably with a technical, business or economic background.

  • Several years of relevant work experience, indicatively approximately 8 to 15 years, appropriate for a position with strategic impact.

  • Experience with asset management, technical management or consultancy within infrastructure, energy, industry or a similar environment.

  • Experience with performance management, lifecycle management and contract management.

  • Experience with DBFM(O), PPP or similar long-term contract forms.

  • Knowledge of relevant asset management standards and methodologies.

  • Insight into contract management, risk management and financial management.

  • Strong analytical, communication and advisory skills.

  • The ability to translate complex issues into clear choices and concrete actions.

  • An entrepreneurial attitude and the ambition to further develop asset management within Rivoir.
